Infants visit Warwick Castle

This term the infant classes have been learning about 'Cottages and Castle.' On Monday the three classes visited one of the best castles in the region - Warwick Castle. After a long coach journey we were all excited to finally see the signs to the castle. Eagerly, we turned the turnstyles and were amazed to see the castle right in front of us. The Reception class started to explore the castle at the the oldest part of the castle. This part was originally built by William the Conqueror in 1068. Since then the castle has been rebuilt and added to continually and is now one of the finest castles in the country.

Each class was treated to a special talk or tour. Year 1 and 2 were amazed by bowman Lewis who talked about 'attack and defence' whilst Reception visited the dragon and helped to save a prince.

After lunch we enjoyed learning more about the castle - we visited the main rooms of the modern part of the castle and also found out about the servants and workers. Following a scary trip to the Gaol we eneded the day with a quick trip to the playground. We had a lot of fun sliding down the slides and whizzing along the aerial runway.

Most of us fell asleep on the way home after a great day at Warwick Castle and dreamed about being knights and princesses.

Thank you to all of the parent helpers and to the staff that arrnaged such an interesting trip. Here are some photos from our exciting trip.
