Year 3/4 Mixed Football Tournament
Today Highnam pupils took part in the Newent Primary Schools Year 3/4 Indoor Football Tournament. Eight teams took part from various schools in the locality and each school needed to have a mixture of girls and boys in their team.
Highnam was in a group with Bromsberrow, Hartpury and Ann Cam B. At the end of the group stage Highnam had won two matches and drawn one (against Hartpury). The semi-final was a tight match with extra-time needing to be played before Jack H scored with seconds to go to knock out Picklenash Juniors.
The final saw Highnam up against Ann Cam A. Again it was a very close game with Highnam winning narrowly 1-0. Well done to all the players, Mrs Townsend and our great supporters - a fabulous result!
