World Book Week
This week we normally celebrate World Book Day but this week we are going to celebrate World Book Week! Miss Coldrick and the other teachers have organised a variety of activities to mark the annual celebration.
On Monday we had a Drop Everything And Read day where pupils and staff would dive into a book when the old school bell was rung. The bell ringers were very careful to make the bell ring without anyone knowing...here are some Year 2 pupils enjoying a good read.
On Tuesday the Reading Ambassadors organised a book swap in the school hall. Pupils brought in books they had read and were able to exchange them for tokens to take home new books. A big thank you to the families who donated additional books to school.

For home learning last week pupils were asked to design a front cover to one of their favourite books. Two winners were selected from each class. Here are a few of the winning entires...
The week finished with the older pupils in the school reading with the Key Stage 1 pupils and the children in Highnam Under Fives. The week has been fantastic and a big thank you must go to the staff for organising the various activities.
