Rugby World Cup Day
Today we celebrated the opening of the Rugby World Cup with a great day of rugby learning. Each pupil spent the day in their 'house' and took part in various workshops including: design a shirt, flag and rugby ball, learning the Haka, rugby passing skills, rugby matches and singing rugby songs.
Each pupil wore rugby clothes and started the day with a specially prepared 'Wake and Shake' created by Miss Read and performed with her Year 4 dance club.
At the end of day we all met together for our celebration assembly. This included a special message from Wales Rugby Captain Sam Warburton. We also organised a rugby world cup quiz which included questions about England international Jonny May's rugby shirt.
Thank you to all the staff at Highnam Academy for contributing to such a great day.
