Global Learning - Kenyan Partnership
In the Spring of 2015 Highnam linked up with a school from Kenya through the Connecting Classrooms British Council Project. In May Miss Read headed out to Kenya on a 10 day visit. Ngarenaro Primary School is a large school which has over 1000 pupils. Miss Read took out a book all about Gloucester created by pupils in Year 2, a beautiful bunting made by pupils in Year 3/4, Highnam uniform and some Gloucester Rugby goodies - a shirt and ball.
Whilst in Kenya Miss Read had the opportunity to take part in Collective Worship, teach Maths and a PE lesson with over 60 pupils in the class. Finally she took out some tag belts to teach the pupils how to play tag rugby.
