Lassington House Win House Music

On Friday we held the 3rd annual House Music Competition. Each year it is one of the most eagerly anticipated events. We welcomed back into the Academy Helen Taylor and David Slinger to assist with the judging of the competition. This year there were 4 parts to the competition: Individual song, individual instrumental; Key Stage One group and whole house performance.

Following some superb individual performances it was time for the whole house song. This year the song choices were: Shine, Ain't No Mountain High Enough, Eye of the Tiger and Rather Be.

Whilst the final scores were being calculated this year saw the first staff feature organised by Miss Read. It was a memorable event and the final results were extremely close. Oakridge and Maidenhall finished on 84 points, Wetherleigh 86 and Lassington won with 87.

Well done to all the pupils who contributed to the event and to our judges. Here are a few photos from the day...

"My favourite song was 'Slippery Fish' it was so funny," commented Annalise in Reception.

"I liked being part of the whole house song, I got to wear boxing gloves during Eye of the Tiger," said Macauley.
