Swimming Gala Final

Yesterday Highnam Academy took part in the rearranged Newent Swimming Gala. Unfortunately due to a few injuries the team wasn't as strong as for the heats but they still were ready to give their best. It was pleasing to see Jamie-Ray win his Y5 backstroke final and in the process beat the current record for the event. After a number of 2nd and 3rd places in the individual races it was time for the relays.

Well done to all the relay teams for performing so well and especially to the Year 5 Girls and Boys team. Highnm won a number of the relays and tt was great to see the level of support for all the competitors. The swimmers were a real credit to the Academy - well done.
