Royal Wedding Day

On Thursday 28th April, the pupils and teachers celebrated the Royal Wedding. There were a number of activities throughout the day linked to the special occasion. At 10am the whole school joined together to witness the mock wedding ceremony of Prince WIlliam and Katherine Middleton conducted by Rev. Pam Kemp. Pupils were chosen to play different part e.g. best man, father of the bride, page boys and bridesmaids. During the wedding service the pupils sang Seek Ye First and You Raise Me Up (link to podcast). While the happy couple signed the register we were treated to some instrumental music from Mrs House and Mr Tibbles. Throughout the occasion our resident photographer (Mrs Wilson) was on hand to capture the event and the beautiful outfits worn by pupils and staff.

At lunchtime the whole school joined together to enjoy the wedding breakfast out on the playground. Pupils had made their own placemats and after their lunches were treated to some of the wedding cake which had been made by pupils in Key Stage One.

In the afternoon, Year One and Year Two, had an introduction to cricket courtesy of the 'Chance to Shine' programme.

Key Stage Two took part in a Royal Quiz. The holiday homework was to learn important information about the Queen and the Royal Family. After four competitive rounds Group 20 won the quiz with a total of 12 points. Well done to Helen, Oliver, Oscar and Rebecca.

The last opportunity of the day was to create a commemorative plate celebrating the 'Best of Britain.' What a great day, thank you to all the staff, parents and pupils who made it such a memorable occasion.
