Diamond Jubilee Celebration

Today, Highnam Academy celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. To mark the occasion pupils were able to dress in red, white and blue. The day started off with an assembly focusing on the coronation in 1953. During the day pupils worked on various jubilee related activities, such as, Make 60, a game with four numbers which you had to use to make the answer of 60 e.g. 6, 6, 2 and 6 (6 + 6 = 12, 12 - 2 = 10, 10 x 6 = 60)

At lunchtime the whole school ate their traditional lunches out on the playground. Mrs Trigg-Hogarth had made a beautiful cake, in the shape of a crown, to celebrate the day and we all enjoyed eating it! In the afternoon we all played party games and ended the day with a look back at each decade of the Queen's reign. Here are some photographs from our memorable day.
