County Cricket Final
On Friday 14th June Highnam Academy represented the district in the County Cricket Fesitval. It was a real honour to see both the boys' and girls' teams representing the Forest of Dean. After a wet start the teams arrived to play on the cricket ground used by Gloucestershire Cricket Club during the Cheltenham festival. After some close games the girls' team came 3rd in their group so did the boys' team after a good victory against Longlevens. Afterwards the girls were awarded a replica silver urn of the ashes played for by England and Australia for their fair play during the event. Thank you to all the parents and family members that came along to support the teams. We had a lovely day and today we were surprised to see Tia in the Citizen newspaper hitting the ball a long way!
