Harvest of the Sea

Today we enjoyed our annual Harvest Festival at the Church of Holy Innocents. This year the theme focused on the harvest of the sea. We were delighted that the party plates created for the church harvest festival on Sunday were still adorning the church.

The church was filled with parents, grandparents, friends and community members. It was lovely to see what each class had prepared and to sing great Congregational hymns such as 'We plough the field and scatter' and 'All thing bright and beautiful.'

During the address pupils displayed a wine goblet as we considered the first miracles of Jesus - turning the water into wine and then 153 fish were spotted moving in the church signifying the final miracle of Jesus on the earth when he instructed Peter and the other fishermen to let down their nets on the right side of their boat and 153 great fish were pulled up in one go.

Thank you to parents for helping support pupils with their harvest baskets we had a wonderful display in church.

"Just a note of appreciation for the lovely and meaningful Harvest service this morning. The amount of preparation was impressive and reflected in all the excellent contributions from the pupils in the narration, songs, prayers and the displays."
