Cricket Champions of Gloucester
This week Highnam Academy took part in the Gloucester district cricket festival held at Gloucester Wingett Cricket Club. The first match saw Highnam play Hempsted. The team had a great session in the field and restricted Hempsted to 207 for 7. It was then Highnam's turn to bat and they scored 257 from their allotted overs.
Following another victory in the group stage Highnam progressed through to the semi-finals. This time they played Dinglewell school from Hucclecote and again a solid display ensured they progressed through to the final. In the final they were up against Ann Cam school. Once again a good display in the field saw Highnam win the final by over 40 runs.
We now look forward to representing Gloucester at the county finals to be held at Cheltenham College. Well done boys a great effort!
