Cotswold Athletics Festival
Highnam Academy took part in the annual Cotswold Athletic Festival at the Prince of Wales Stadium on Saturday. This year 6 teams entered the competition:
St. Lawerence (Lechlade), Woodchester, Blockley, Tewkesbury, Tirlebrook and Highnam. Our team was made up of over 30 participants from Year 2 to 6. After the sprint qualifiers there were the long distance races. It would be hard to mention all of the events as Highnam pupils performed so well throughout the whole event. It was wonderful to see the spirit and determination shown by all the athletes.
At the end of the morning the results were announced... Highnam finished in 3rd place just behind Blockley School.Once again Tewkesbury C of E Primary School won the whole event. Ed and Alyssa collected the trophy on behalf of the team. Well done to everyone for such a great performance and a big thank you to all of the Highnam Academy supporters.
