Choir Bring Christmas Cheer
On Thursday 10th December, 27 members of Highnam Academy choir visited the Brockworth Care to sing to the elderly residents.
It was a lovely afternoon and the children sang a variety of traditional and contemporary Christmas songs, such as ‘Away in a Manger’, ‘Winter Wonderland’, ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ and ‘Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.’
Afterwards, the members of the choir shared out the cakes and mince pies they had brought in and had a chat with the residents.
The choir enjoyed their afternoon out and it was wonderful to see them perform in the wider community. They were a credit to the school.
Evie said ‘I liked it that the elderly people were joining in with the songs and clapping along.’
Tom commented he enjoyed singing ‘Jingle Bells’.
